Our top tips for making memories this Autumn

Autumn – or Fall, as it’s known to our friends in the USA – is a wonderful time of year to make memories. With Halloween, Fireworks Night, Thanksgiving and more, this season is filled with the kind of special moments that we are so passionate about at Memories of Growing Up. Time seems to fly by so quickly these days, so we always recommend you take lots of photographs and store them away safely on our Memories Stick! Read on for our top five ways to make memories this season…

1. Apple Picking

If you’re lucky enough to live near an orchard or have an apple tree in your garden, this is a fun activity for all the family. The tallest members can go for the fruits at the very top, while the younger ones can have a great time catching the apples as they fall and counting them into their basket. Whipping up an apple pie with the fruits of your labours is the perfect way to end the day.

2. Decorate a Pumpkin
Nothing says ‘Halloween’ quite like this! For little fingers that might find carving a bit tricky Sharpies are a great way of adding a spooky character to your pumpkin. Luckily every Talltape comes with a Sharpie marker, so you can always have one to hand!

3. Build a Den

As the weather turns colder and the days get shorter, it’s not always possible to venture outside. With just a sprinkle of imagination, there is plenty of fun to be had indoors. Gather together a few blankets and cushions to build a den and you can be transported anywhere your mind takes you – A tree house? A rocket? A pirate ship? Aye Aye captain!

4. Make some Leaf Art

When the leaves start to change colour on the trees, you truly know autumn has arrived. The rich reds and oranges are perfect for getting creative – from collaging with leaves collected in the park to making rubbings. Why not decorate your Tree of Life Talltape by adding a few autumn leaves, so it can change with the seasons too.

5. Tuck Into Some Hot Chocolate

Chilly evenings (and mornings and afternoons, too!) call for a nice cup of warming hot chocolate. Have fun with the kids by letting them decorate theirs with marshmallows, whipped cream and chocolate sauce for an extra special treat.
